Scratchboard is a fine art form that uses a surface covered with white clay and then a layer of black India ink. In class we will explore the different tools to remove the black ink to bring your image come to life. The student may choose to keep their boards black and white or proceed to colorize them. In class we will explore the different mediums used to colorize your scratchboards.

We will learn perspective, balance, form, and contrast as it all relates to composition. We will learn how to take a drawing from sketch to finished art work with just a pencil. Whether you are a beginner or advanced you should bring quality photos to work from.

In this Acrylic Painting course, you will learn how to prep your canvas, and how to transfer your own reference from your own photos or the two free websites such as Pixabay or Unsplash. Once your drawing is on the canvas, the FUN begins with painting in acrylics. This course is in-depth and it’s also a FUN two hours of studio time with other acrylic lovers. This intermediate/advanced art class continues the exploration of acrylic media and techniques with a more in-depth study of acrylics, aesthetics, and medium. Students will have the ability to talk about their work and the work of others in classroom critiques that we do at the start of each class. Please note, this is not for beginners.
