In this two-day workshop students will gain the confidence and skills necessary for working with small stones. Enhance your jewelry with more setting styles, color, beauty and sparkle. Learn to flush set, tube set and create baby bezels to incorporate into your designs. Working with tube and sheet metal students will learn a number if ways to add small gems to jewelry designs.

Gain the skills to set nearly any shaped stone. Setting unusually shaped objects can be a challenge. This workshop will focus on how to achieve a perfect fit by exploring creative settings for your special object. Textured bezels, tabs and partial bezels can make your stone stand out. Learn to create custom bezels, prongs and the many unique settings to capture and showcase your stone or found object.

Sand casting is a technique that has been used since the earliest days of humanity. It is a fun technique you can use to create duplicate items in a short time. You can cast items from nature or bring in jewelry you have previously created to produce replicas. After finishing, your castings will be ready to be used in your own jewelry designs or small sculptures. Bring in your silver scrap to recycle. Please print your supply list. For safety, closes toe shoes are required. Supply Kit fee of $20 payable to instructor 1st class.

Electro forming is a fun technique that literally grows copper onto a surface treated with electro conductive paint. Crystals, shells, coral, branches, leaves, plastics or other metals can be encased in copper. This class will have you thinking outside of the box when it comes to jewelry design. Adorn your fingers in this creative workshop. Learn to cut, form, solder, and size rings properly. This class will be filled with lots of technique. Bezels will be hand fabricated and added to your rings. Soldering and set up will be a focus as well as forging and texturing ring shanks. Stone setting tips, polishing and finish work will also be covered. We will explore creative ring shanks and explore unique ways to mount the bezels.

Get to know the basics of jewelry making and design. You will learn skills such as soldering with a torch, sawing, forming metal and polishing.
