You will learn how to paint poppy flowers with a loose watercolor underpainting and add pencils on top for the details (You can use both watercolor pencils or regular polychrome pencils). After painting along in the 1st class demo, you will apply these techniques to your own painting using your photo references. Class is limited to 14 students.

Artist’s fine line markers are not just for careful detail work, they are also great for quick sketches. Drawing in pen means letting go of perfectionism and going with the flow of ink! Add color with a few colored pencils, watercolor pencils, pastels or watercolors and create fresh and lively artwork or fill a journal. Forget erasing and fixing things, just loosen up and have fun drawing! (Weather permitting, this class will draw outside too.)

Explore the many ways these versatile pencils can be used wet or dry, alone or for mixed media. Great for artists’ journals and plein air, for sketching or serious artwork, they even mix well with pen and ink and traditional watercolor. Some paper is provided; bring your own pencils or borrow class sets.
