Streamlined Techniques in Watercolor, Kris Peterson
Roseate Spoonbill
Kris Peterson I-A
Thursdays 1:00-4:00
Join Kris for a new twist in watercolors using the addition of gouache. Gouache is not the “white-out” or cover-up paint you may have been told, and using it properly in small amounts with your regular watercolor paints streamlines the painting process while maintaining the brilliance. It smooths troublesome large areas prone to streaking, eliminates blotches and blossoms, it lifts easily with a damp brush and areas can be reworked without scrubbing.

Get Creative With Animals, Robin Poteet
Robin Poteet
Advanced Beginner to Advanced
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Mar 14, 15, 16 9:30-4:00
What’s not to love about painting animals — especially when it involves humor and imagination?!! This workshop is just plain fun, beginning with brainstorming ideas and numerous, short exercises. You’ll see how one creative step leads to another and another until you have a host of animals eager to be painted in out-of-the-ordinary ways. In addition to the creative aspect, you can count on Robin’s seasoned teaching skills for thorough explanations and demonstrations of watercolor techniques. By working small (8×10’ish) students will have time to create several pieces and Robin will show ways to creatively mount or frame finished pieces. She also reproduces her work on everything from pillows to notecards and will explain the process.
This workshop is a great springboard for developing creative approaches to your work, regardless of the subject. There will be time for interaction and painting throughout our three sessions. Robin demonstrates in watercolor but students may use acrylic and gouache. Let the fun begin!
