May 28 – Stained Glass Flip Flop
Freed Ostis
The flip flop is a symbol of fun, easy-going beach style. You will assemble the lead cane, apply the foil and solder the sandle together. You will polish and then add decorative crystals and chain for hanging.
May 29 – Watercolor Painting
Kris Peterson
We will draw chickens on two separate sheets of special paper and then paint in watercolor, sprinkling salt on the wet paint to make the “feathers”. After the paint dries, we will put in the details. These are suitable for framing or makes a great gift.
May 30 – Kumihimo
Joyce Dolinish
Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese art form of making braids and cords. Using a foam weaving disk, we will first make a corded key chain to learn the process, and then do a more difficult beaded version.
May 31 – Raku
Ted Camp
RAKU glazing class will give students the experience of glazing a raku piece of bisque ware. When the glazes melt students will remove their work from the hot kiln with special tongs and place their work in a container to smoke, this smoke produces very unique colors in the glaze and at the end of class, students will take home their finished raku glazed pieces.

Design a Fantasy Creature Using Procreate and Tricks EA3

Design your own fantasy creature. We will use imagination to fill in the details, name, food, habitat and family. You will use your IPad, Apple Pencil and the App Procreate or your IPhone, A Stylus and the App Procreate Pocket. You will learn about color, layers and tools for sketching and painting. Have fun and dive into the digital world of Procreate!
Foundation of Drawing EA4

This is a class for the young artist. The class is focusing on all aspects of art. We will train the eye how to see as it relates to direction of line, curves, form, shape, contrast, etc. We will learn how to look at something and
draw it exactly. All projects will be finished in pencil, color pencil or watercolor. Once the basics are learned, we will focus on design and composition. Students are to bring pictures they want to draw. All art supplies are provided.

Beginners and beyond will have the opportunity to discover more of who they are as a photographer. As a group, we will participate in activities and projects that begin with basics and build as they go along. Such activities will take us off grounds to locations along the Riverwalk and the surrounding downtown area with opportunities for individual projects as well. The intent of this experience is to grow as an artist in a positive and welcoming group environment.

Needle felting is a fiber art form of sculpting wool batting into shapes and figurines.
It is crafted by stabbing the wool with special barbed needles. This connects and tangles
the fibers together, resulting in more density.

Scratchboard is a fine art form that uses a surface covered with white clay and then a layer of black India ink. In class we will explore the different tools to remove the black ink to bring your image come to life.
Who Doesn’t Love Sea Creatures?! EA7

Whether you create a pufferfish, a seahorse, an octopus or some magical creature from your imagination, this paper mache’ class is for you. You’ll design and build an armature, shape your new friend with recycled materials and add a unique final flourishes, then take your creation home.

Experimenting with Acrylics EA10

There are numerous approaches to using acrylic paint to create a painting other than just with a brush. We will explore the fundamentals of acrylic painting as well as introduce some different techniques for applying paint to a canvas such as using a palette knife, plastic card, sponges, rubber stamps, etc. We will discuss how to use a photograph for inspiration and learn to alter that image to create the most interesting composition for your painting. We will be creating several unique paintings throughout the week. Come join us!
