Painting Demo by Bill Farnsworth OPA
Location: ArtCenter Manatee, 209 9th St. W, Blue Studio
A 1980 graduate of the Ringling School of Art and Design, Bill Farnsworth has spent more than 40 years as an Illustrator and Fine Artist. Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, Bill spent many years painting landscapes of the rural area, while supporting himself and family with his growing illustration career. His paintings have been in many National Shows, museums, and private collections throughout the United States.

Painting Demo by Juror of Awards Katie Dobson Cundiff OPA
Location: ArtCenter Manatee, 209 9th St. W, Red Studio
Katie Cundiff OPA acquired an early appreciation for the fine arts, drawing, and painting, under the tutelage of artist parents. Early works resulted in scholarships from National Scholastics Magazine and the Croatian Fraternal Union, earning a B.A. in Fine Arts and Painting from Ringling College of Art and Design. A love of the out of doors combined with painting has produced numerous awards and recognition in plein air events. Her work also includes still life, figurative, and wildlife, and has been featured on apparel and print for Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, Quail Unlimited, The Billfish Foundation, Safari Clubs International, and Gulf Coast Conservation Association. In addition, Cundiff has been featured in American Art Collector Magazine, American Artists Magazine, Southwest Art, and at the Museum of Florida Art and Culture in Sebring, Florida. Juried exhibits and awards include those from Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, Women Painters of the Southeast, Cumberland Society of Oil Painters, and American Impressionists.

Bring your art supplies and join us for a morning of plein air painting in and around the Bradenton area. There is no shortage of subject matter in this beautiful coastal town! Artists will paint on their own, but a list of recommended locations will be made available. OPA will supply Gamsol.

Painting Demo by Hodges Soileau OPA
Location: ArtCenter Manatee, 209 9th St. W
For more than twenty-five years, Hodges had a successful illustration career gracing the covers of more than three hundred books. He worked for most of the major publishing houses in New York, Field and Stream Magazine and notably Scholastic (Babysitters Club series) and, Harlequin (Romance Covers). Hodges was a long-time member of the prestigious Society of Illustrators where he received many citations of merit for work exhibited in annual shows. After years of executing ideas and concepts of others, he presently paints subjects that are of personal interest. His work hangs in private collections as well as the United States Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard permanent collections. The permanent collection of Golf Digest Magazine includes several of his paintings.
