Art Works is an open, all media, juried exhibit.

The artwork in this exhibit is a fabulous testament to the breadth of talent in the Tampa Bay region. I was delighted by the diversity of media and subject matter presented here, even if it did make the award selection very difficult. As a juror, there are many things I look for in great artwork, including emotional presence, technical skill and innovation, and content or narrative. The best artworks will have all of those in excessive measure, creating both immediate and lasting impact. I could get lost for hours in the award-winning pieces, for their complex formal relationships, intricate mark-making, and powerful expression. I am very grateful for the opportunity to sit with each and every artwork here and want to congratulate every artist for having the courage to create your work and to share it with our community.
