Mitchell Dean - Rowena & Pretty BabyThe diverse styles representing each artists unique vision, along with the high technical quality of each piece, makes the 41st Annual Juried Exhibition of the Southern Watercolor Society a must see show. From a field of over 200 watercolor paintings representing artists from 19 southern states, the juror, John Salminen, an internationally recognized urban landscape painter, selected 94 paintings for inclusion in the exhibit.

The artists and their work present a compelling story of life, from portraits to street scenes and landscapes to abstracts. The body of work is impressive.

Founded in 1975, the Southern Watercolor Society, a nonprofit corporation, formed to elevate the stature of watercolor and educate the public to the significance of watercolor as an important creative and permanent painting medium. They are dedicated to the highest aesthetic standards.
