Extruder Construction, Ted Camp

Ted Camp
Thursdays 9:00-12:00

The use of clay extrusions greatly speeds up the process of creating clay pieces. Using small hand extruders and/or larger wall-mounted extruders, students will construct forms in a variety of scale. Time saved from the construction process allows the student more time to consider aesthetic concerns and explore the clay medium creatively. Pieces may be built entirely from extrusions or combined with other traditional hand building (and even wheel throwing) techniques. Students may work alternatively between sculptural and utilitarian forms. Firing and glazing choices include using either cone 6 electric or cone 10 reduction kilns. Class fee includes 25 lbs. of clay, glazes and firing. MASK REQUIRED
