Ted Camp I-A
Wednesdays 9:00-12:00
Because of the extended length of this course. beginning students will have time to develop new skills on the wheel in the production of drinking vessels, pitchers, bowls, and containers all the while increasing their scale. More advanced students will focus on the myriad design opportunities involving lids, including the most majestic form, the tea pot. In addition, students will work with the combination of multiple forms to gain greater scale. Numerous demonstrations will provide the way to success. Students will also explore the myriad ways to apply glazes to their pieces and experience the difference between mid-fire (cone 6 electric) and hi-fire (cone 10 reduction) glazes. Bring your own tools or purchase a beginner’s kit at the front desk. Class fee includes 25 lbs. of clay, firing, and in-studio glazing.
