Ted Camp B-A
Wheel throwing has attracted students who like symmetrically round objects and has challenged them to learn how to control the development of a particular form. The basic steps to throwing will be the focus for beginners while more advanced students will be challenged by more complex forms and techniques for achieving greater scale or diversity of form. Demonstrations will repeatedly show the techniques, which will lead to the student’s success, through practice. Students will also explore the myriad ways to apply glazes to their pieces and experience the differences between mid-fire (cone 6 electric) and hi-fire (gas fired cone 10 reduction) glazes. Bring your own tools or purchase a beginner’s kit at our front desk. Class fee includes 25 lbs. of stoneware clay, in-studio glazing & firing.
