Using your creativity, your imagination and a variety of materials-change the purpose and value of objects. Give objects a new and powerful purpose-making them worthy of more-making them ART! Students are encouraged to bring any personal items such as broken action figures, costume jewelry no longer in use, or even a discarded phone charger to repurpose into a group project that will be created in tandem with individual projects.

Students will accept an object of choice or a slice of nature. Techniques and color theory are very important to the outcome. Artist sketch will be drawn on graph paper and transferred to canvas. Students will enhance their skills of sketching, mixing, application, blending, masking areas, straight edge, lettering if applicable, and other needed techniques. Student artists will each create an original artist inspired acrylic canvas.

Students will explore a variety of creative techniques while weaving and sewing. No experience necessary. Students will learn to make and warp a loom, weave a creative cloth full of color and textures, and sew a bag or tapestry. Students will be encouraged to use their imagination and enjoy the process.

Students will be encouraged to explore the inlimited materials available in the making of collage while creating a visual representation of their inner self (ie). As a medium, collage is inviting, playful and engaging.

This is a class for the young artist. We will train the eye how to see as it relates to direction of line, curves, form, shape, contrast, etc. We will learn how to look at something and draw it exactly. All projects will be finished in pencil, color pencil, or watercolor. We will focus on how to mix colors and shade form making it look three dimensional. Students are to bring (preferably 4X6) pictures they want to draw.

It’s a class giving you a different surprise every day from monoprints and hat painting to painting a village and having an artist trading card swap. Put on your artistic cap and come along. Ever wonder what it is like to throw on the pottery wheel? It’s amazing to fight the wheel’s centripetal force and make your own pot. Here’s your chance. Learn as a beginner or hone your existing skills through demonstration and hands on instruction. Also play in the clay with hand building. Includes adding 3 dimensional figures such as mermaids, lizards and plants onto your pieces. Glaze with dazzling colors.
