You’ll need these colors for the basics and bring whatever other colors you have on hand. The following is for everyone to bring: - 11 x 14 Sketch book/journal for note taking - Circular color wheel - Value Finder (10 shades of black with keyhole-shaped cutouts) - Plastic table covering (old table cloth or shower curtain works great) - Rags (instead of paper towels… more green) _________________________________________________________________________________ Acrylics or Oils Paints Titanium White, Cadmium Red Medium OR Napthol Red Medium Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson OR Quinacridone Crimson Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium Cerulean Blue OR Magneseum Blue Lemon Yellow OR Primrose Yellow Sap Green OR Hooker’s, Umber (either Raw OR Burnt) Viridian Green OR Cobalt Green, Burnt Sienna Brushes 1 small and 1 large Bristle of each shape: Round, Flat, Filbert (and bring what you have) Mediums: For Acrylics Retarder VERY IMPORTANT Regular Matte Gel OR Semi-gloss or Satin Gel, 1 small jar For Oils Gamsol used like turpentine very low odor VERY IMPORTANT Palette Knife Diamond in shape, about 1 1/2” long in range (not too long) plastic or metal Palette about 12 x 16 can be disposable paper palette (Please get this larger size, the smaller size too confining) Supports 7 canvas boards OR stretched canvas no smaller than 11 x 14 OR 12 x 16 Bring 1 to each class to paint the lesson IN CLASS _________________________________________________________________________________ Watercolor Paints Cadmium Red Medium OR Scarlet Lake Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson OR Quinacridone Crimson Ultramarine Blue Aureolin OR Cadmium Yellow Medium Cerulean Blue OR Magneseum Blue Cad Lemon Yellow OR Hansa Yellow Light Sap Green OR Hooker’s Green Raw Umber Viridian Green, Burnt Sienna Bring your other usual support materials such as brushes, water sprayer, sponges, etc. Paper 140# quarter sheets - 7 quarters _________________________________________________________________________________ Pastels (This medium has different names for colors but you can find these as well). White, Cadmium Red Medium Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium Cerulean Blue OR Magneseum Blue, Lemon Yellow Sap Green OR Hooker’s Green, Raw Umber Viridian Green OR Cobalt Green, Burnt Sienna Paper: White pastel paper no smaller than 11 x 14 OR Canson MiTiente White, cut into halves for 8 pieces Bring your other usual support materials such as erasers, other pastels you already have, etc. Optional: If you wish to use a table top easel bring it.
