Sprouting Artists Ages 4-5

Tuesdays, 9am – 11am 

Four and five year olds will explore lots of hands-on projects including drawing, pottery, painting and more. Age appropriate art lessons will build skills and knowledge as well as nurture your child’s creative instincts.

Talented Tues., Ages 6-10

Tuesdays, 9am – 11am 

Give your child the opportunity to explore the world of art in these fun filled two hour sessions. Each three week session will focus on a different medium. Sign your child up for one or all of the sessions.

Thrilling Thursdays

Thursdays, 9am – 11am 

What could be more fun than playing in clay?  Your child will love the experience of working in this medium and you’ll be amazed at how much they accomplish in these two hour classes.

Emerging Artists, Ages 11-15

Monday – Friday, 9am – noon

Session 1: June 10 – 14 Manga – The Art of Japanese Comics & Graphic Novels
Instructor: Joseph Palotas
Join in on the wonderful world of Manga. We will spend the week developing a group of personalized manga characters. Learn what makes this Japanese art so sought after and how you to can recreate this fascinating style with the right knowledge of what makes it so different from the other styles. We will begin with the physical proportions and quickly move to an all out color layout of your specialized Manga Tribe!

Session 2: June 17 – 21 Painting with Style – Four Approaches To Wonderful Art
Instructor: Joseph Palotas
Do you like painting? We will be painting in two different mediums indoors and outdoors. Watercolor and Acrylic paints will be the tools of our creativity. You will be taught how to do at least two different styles in two different settings. Definitely worth the effort if you have an interest in learning how to further your painting abilities. Lots of finished projects in this class.

Session 3: June 24 – 28 Wheel Throwing – Round-n-Round Ceramics
Instructor: Marianela Borsten
Throw a groovy mug or bowl; glaze it, fire it!

Session 4: July 1 – 3* Photography
Instructor: John Hynal
Learn more than the basics in this digital photography class.  Begin to master composition, light shadow, color and telling a story with your photographs.  Students need to bring a digital camera to class.

Session 5: July 8 – 12 Build It With Clay
Instructor: Marianela Borsten
Handbuilding projects that will stretch your creativity and  will open up a whole world of creating!

Session 6: July 15 – 19 Photography
Instructor: John Hynal
Learn more than the basics in this digital photography class.  Begin to master composition, light shadow, color and telling a story with your photographs.  Students need to bring a digital camera to class.

Session 7: July 22 – 26 Teen Art Workshop
Instructor: Amy Webber
Art projects will include: asian brush painting, mixed media collage with making our own papers. three dimentional in a two dimentional world,  to finish, painting, batik and fabric dying (bring a white clothing item you will want to change artistically. Your imagination will be all you need…anything goes! If you think it we will create it.

Session 8: July 29 – Aug. 2 Batik, Fabric & Wild Tee Shirt Designing
Instructor: Amy Webber
We will be painting, tie dyeing, braiding, cutting. stitching, gluing, applying different tecniques to change tee shirts and  into wearable works of art. Each student will have several wearable items that will make their own unique fashion statement. This class is for boys and girls …the imagination will be stimulated !

Session 9: August 5 – 9 Accessorize Yourself 
Instructor: Melissa Enders
Learn bead weaving and make pendants, bookmarks, and Key chains. Also play with Polymer Clay and accessorize your school pens and make steam punk polymer jewelry. Learn the art of Metalsmithing and get introduced to working with tools and metal to make your own jewelry.
