Sandbags can be used to create amazing amounts of volume in your jewelry. I will teach you how to improve your ability to form metal in one short weekend. You will learn to use the right tools combined with the correct technique. By the end of class you will have completed a pendant, ready to wear home. Be sure to print your supply list. Closed toe shoes are required for safety.

Enjoy a full six hours of jewelry class every Friday. This a great time to create your own designs while receiving expert advice. Topics and techniques will be discussed as needed. Form, function, creativity and craftsmanship are the focus of this student-driven class. This is a great time to explore your creative path. Please note that this class runs from 10:00 to 4:00, with a 1/2 lunch break from 12:30 to 1:00. Closed toe shoes are required. Need basic metal working skills.

Advanced Jewelry: Designed For Success, Donna Carrion

Intro to Copper Enameling, Liana Martin

Enameling is the art of fusing powdered glass to metal at high temperatures, using a kiln. In this course you will learn to: prepare copper for enameling, make several sample pieces using a range of techniques, explore the use of opaque and transparent enamels, and use decorative inclusions – frit, glass threads, millefiori, and copper wire. Supply fee $40 payable to the instructor the 1st day of class.

Piercing (sawing), soldering (using a torch), applying texture, and setting stones, are the basic techniques and skills we will be covering in this course. We start at square one. If you have no experience at all, or if you’ve worked in metals previously and need to refresh or build better confidence in the metals studio you will meet like minded people. Design interpretation, safety and proper handling of equipment and tools will be covered.

Advanced Jewelry Intensive, Wendy Thurlow

Students must be independent, advanced and equipped with skills to solder alone. New soldering techniques will be covered as needed. Each session will cover a different jewelry making technique. No projects will be given. Students will have time to develop creativity while practicing or learning a new skill. Class will be focused on finishing what you start or re-visiting unfinished projects. Time will also spent on craftsmanship, cleaning and polishing of your jewelry. Knowledge of ACM studio required: proper tools usage and studio safety is a must. Advanced students only.
