Portrait Oils - Ron Sanders
Supply List

Students may work in any medium they choose, including oils, acrylics, watercolor, drawing, pastel, etc.

Poses will be long - we will work from the same model for 4 to 5 weeks. Students wishing to work from photos rather than the live model may do so. Students working from the model will share the cost of the model. While the instruction will focus on oil painting techniques, general principles of portraiture will be discussed and the teacher will tailor his instruction to whatever medium a student is using.

For painters, the following colors are recommended: Cad Yellow Pale or Lemon, Cad Yellow Medium, Cad Orange, Cad Red Light, Quinacridone Rose (aka Permanent Rose), Cobalt Violet, Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Viridian Green, Burnt Umber and White. It is highly recommended that students have these colors in order to follow the instructor's color theory and color mixing advice.

Please bring all appropriate brushes, towels or rags, solvents/paint thinners and appropriate containers in which to transport them. palettes, palette knives, pencils or pastels (if using them in place of painting) and painting or drawing surface of your choice.
