ArtCenter Manatee and ComCenter in Lakewood Ranch partner for Art at the ComCenter Fine Art Gallery

Beginning in August, 2007, residents of eastern Manatee County and Lakewood Ranch will have the opportunity to visit a new satellite gallery of ArtCenter Manatee. Art at the ComCenter has been designed to be an integral part of an innovative business center in Lakewood Ranch. The ComCenter, which is one of three such facilities in Manatee County, is currently home to nearly 20 local businesses and serves as a virtual office to over 100 more. Situated within the heart of the space is the gallery; providing a state-of-the art hanging & lighting system for showcasing art. This unique setting, open Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, offers a perfect space for viewing and purchasing art amidst coffee and comfortable seating in the Copycafe.

Created to showcase the artistry of local artists to a larger audience, the new gallery named Art at the ComCenter Gallery is located at 9040 Town Center Parkway. “When our partner Bernard Croghan proposed this idea to us, we fell in love with the concept because it will further our ongoing mission by giving our organization a new gallery that many residents can easily access. We look forward to showcasing some of the area’s finest work in this upscale Lakewood Ranch setting” said Diane Shelly, Executive Director of the ArtCenter.

Art at the ComCenter Fine Art Gallery will feature a new local artist or group and his/her work for eight week intervals beginning on August 3rd with work by watercolor artist Terry Denson. The public is welcome to visit and there is no charge for admission. Each new artist’s exhibition will open with a wine and cheese reception where the public will have the opportunity to meet the featured artist or group. Artwork in the exhibits will be for sale to the public.

“We’re pleased to partner with ArtCenter Manatee on this great initiative” states Bernard Croghan, ComCenter developer. “Through the exhibits we’ll share with the ArtCenter and its artists, it is our hope that residents throughout eastern Manatee County will come and enjoy the works that will be displayed throughout the year. There is a tremendous amount of talent in our community. We’re excited to act as a satellite venue to showcase it all for the ArtCenter.”
