| Introduction to Watercolor B Instructor: Ruthy Hyatt Monday, 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Session 1: Jan. 14, 28, Feb. 4, 11, 25 Session 2: Mar. 3, 10, 17, 24, Apr. 7 Session 3: Apr. 14, 28, May 5, 12, 19 Have you always admired watercolor paintings and wondered if you could create them? Then, this class is for you! The class will take you through the basics of watercolor from composition, direction of light, value scale, how to use various brushes, color mixing, wet on wet, dry brush techniques, as well as some of the fun tips and tricks of the medium. Learn how to mix colors directly on paper and achieve luminous paintings. This is an intermediate class that celebrates the brilliance and versatility of the watercolor medium. In this class we will explore the value scale, composition, direction of light, and how to define shadows through still life, florals, architectural details and boats/water. How Would You Like To Be A Stained Glass Artist? BA Instructor: Robert Obering Saturday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Session 1: Jan. 12, 19, 26, Feb. 2, 9 Session 2: Feb. 16, 23, Mar. 1, 8, (No Mar. 15), Mar. 22 Session 3: Mar. 29, Apr. 5, Apr. 12, 19, 26 Robert Obering, a local stained glass artist, will teach you the fundamentals of design, construction, and assembly of your own artistic creation! Beginners will learn the basics of stained glass using the copper foil method. Advanced students will learn to create 3-dimensional items with assistance from the instructor. Instruction includes pattern preparation, cutting glass, copper foiling, soldering and finishing. 5 classes: $70 ACM members, $90 non-members *Advanced students will provide their own tools and supplies. | POLICIES REGISTRATION FOR CLASSES: There is a non-refundable $20 deposit, for each 5 week session, required at the time of registration. You may register by phone (941)746-2862 with Master Card or Visa or in person at ArtCenter Manatee with cash, check or M/C, Visa. REGISTRATION FOR WORKSHOPS: There is a non-refundable deposit of $50 for all major workshops. The balance is due for workshops 4 weeks prior to the start date of the workshop. CANCELLATIONS: ACM reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment. Students will be notified of any cancellation and will receive a full refund, may transfer the funds to another class or may receive a credit to be used for another class. The credit is valid for one year from the Issue date. STUDENT CANCELLATIONS: If a student cancels a class prior to the start of the class there is a $20 fee for cancellation (your $20 non-refundable) deposit. There will be no refund of monies once a class has begun. There are no make up classes for students who miss a class. ARTCENTER CANCELLATIONS: At times unforeseen circumstances may necessitate a change in the schedule. ACM will make every effort to notify enrolled students in a timely manner of any cancellation. SUPPLY LISTS: Supply lists are available on our website, www.artcentermanatee.org, If there is an additional supply fee it will be noted in the class description in our catalog and on the website.
