Beginning Jewelry

Tuesdays, 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Session 1: Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28, Oct. 5
Session 2: Oct. 19, 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16
Session 3: Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14 *
Students will be introduced to shop safety, tools and materials. A new
project will be made each week exploring the fundamentals of jewelry
making: filing, polishing sawing, basic forming, texturing and soldering
will be introduced.
Materials are purchased and paid for each week.

Bronze Metal Clay – An Introduction
Instructor: Colleen White - Supply List

Session 3: Jul. 19, 26, Aug. 2, 9*
Bronze Clay, one of the newest metal clays on the market, makes
precious metal clay an affordable medium for anyone. In this fi ve week
beginners class, you will learn how to build jewelry in metal clay using
stamps and molds; set stones in PMC, and build over a core to construct
hollow pieces. Build your own pendants, earrings and beads in gleaming
golden bronze and learn skills that can be used in metal clay.
There is a $40 lab fee, payable to the instructor, that will include bronze clay,a
workmat and basic tools.

BronZClay, one of the newest metal clays on the market, makes precious
metal clay an affordable medium for anyone. In this 5 week beginner’s
class, you will learn how to build jewelry in metal clay using stamps and
molds, set stones in PMC and build a hollow lentil bead. Create your own
pendants, earrings, bracelet links, charms and beads in gleaming golden
bronze and learn the skills that can be used with any metal clay.
Material/tool fee of $35 is payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

Beaded Jewelry I

Learn the basic skill to create original jewelry designs using beads, chain
and wire. Class includes use of “Beadalon” and crimping, headpins, wire
links, memory wire, pearl stringing and design skills.

Beaded Jewelry II

Building on the skills learned in Beginner’s Beaded Jewelry, this class
includes muti-strand shaped necklaces on both Beadalon and memory
wire, use of wire jigs to make decorative shapes and findings, wire
wrapping beads and cabachons, coiling and a multi –strand woven
necklace on Beadalon.

Jewelry Open Studio
The jewelry studio is available for use by members of ArtCenter
Manatee who have successfully completed a Silver I jewelry
class at ArtCenter Manatee. The open studio fee is $10 per
half day. Jewelry open studio is scheduled monthly with a
studio monitor so please call 746-2862 for studio times and to
register. Evening open studios must be paid for at the time of
registration.
Studio space is limited - Please register at least 24 hours prior
to your desired Open Studio time.
Fees:
ACM members: 1/2 day $10.00 per person
Full day $20.00 per person
FSG members: 1/2 day $5.00 per person
Full day $10.00 per person
